What Every Educator Should Know About Suicide

Presented by: Veronica Tullo
Veronica Tullo, a high school junior, is an active advocate for the education of mental health and the prevention of suicide. As someone who has experienced the effects of suicide on both a personal and broad level, I believe the best way to go about decreasing this epidemic is by improving the education of mental health and suicide in the school systems. By educating students as young as middle school on maintaining stable mental health and what to do if you or someone you know is considering suicide, and continue this education through high school, we can vastly reduce the rate of teen suicide and save lives.

The Region III workshop will on the CST's role in counseling, and hopefully preventing , teen suicide. Veronica Tullo is a junior at Montville Twp. High School and 2020 Miss North Jersey . Her platform has been the education of mental health, and the prevention of teen suicide. We firmly believe that the CST, and especially the LDT-Cs, may be the first contact with students having difficulties. We will have information from the Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide: "What Every Educator Should Know" and "What Every Parent Should Know," plus a short DVD: "Not My Kid."
This event has been cancelled due to CDC rules in response to the Coronavirus.
